This is a prediction on who will be the best WR Duos in the League for 2021 based on what they have shown in years prior and my expectations for them.
#5: D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks
This Duo I could see regressing slightly or putting up identical numbers. Although DK is an improving star in the NFL, I am not sure how much more his numbers can rise. As well as Tyler Lockett's production has been good, but he's been pretty inconsistent. DK and Lockett combined for 2,300+ yards and 20 touchdowns in 2020. I could see DK having around 1,200+ yards and 10 touchdowns, while Lockett has around 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns. I would also have to say this is the least explosive duo of the 5 that you would fear playing on Sundays, DK is a monster but Lockett just seems like a solid WR2 that you keep your eye on.
#4: Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is a duo that I have never really gotten the hype for, yes they are very good and some of the better receivers in the NFL, but I can't put them any higher than number four on the list. I don't see Tom Brady doing much better than last season, if anything I see him regressing. My prediction for this duo would have to be about 1,100 yards each and around 17 touchdowns.
#3: Julio Jones and A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans
Once Julio Jones was sent over to the Titans in a trade from the Falcons, people knew this was going to be a dangerous Duo. A.J. Brown is a rising star in the NFL and pairing him up with a Legend like Julio should help him massively. With that being said, is Julio the same Julio Jones we saw dominate on the Falcons in years before? That question is still unanswered until the season starts. I could see A.J. Brown breaking out with 1,200+ yards and 10 touchdowns, while Julio gets 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns.
#2: Amari Cooper and Ceedee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
This is a Duo that you could definitely argue being better than the Vikings, but I feel there are simply too many hands to feed in Dallas for them to be at the #1 spot. This is a duo that had over 2,000 yards and 10 touchdowns with Andy Dalton for a big portion of the season. Lamb is looking to have a big sophomore season, while Amari Cooper has been a reliable WR1 for a couple of seasons now. I could see the Duo having around 1,200 yards each and 15+ touchdowns combined.
#1: Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson is coming off a historic rookie WR season and is looking for even more in year 2. He combined with Adam Thielen for 2,325 yards and an insane amount of 21 touchdowns. With the extra game added I see no reason why the duo can't put up these numbers or better again. I could see Jefferson in the 1,300 yards range with 8+ touchdowns and Adam Thielen with 1,100 yards with 12 touchdowns. You may say it is unrealistic for the two WRs to combine for 20+ touchdowns again, but this is a high-scoring duo on a high-scoring offense, now without breakout candidate Irv Smith Jr. this season. Keep in mind Jefferson did not start the first 2 games in 2020 and Adam Thielen missed a game, this prediction is based on them both playing and starting all 17 games.
